Links and articles for use by Narrow Gaugers, Railroaders, and Steam Fans

It's hoped that the links page will showcase those links of interest to the average steam fan or railroader. Here on these pages, we hope to bring a fare amount of information to those that are interested in the 'nuts and bolts' of locomotives, railroad construction, and the like.

The Ultimate Steam Page's list of books, computer software, and patents that are helpful to understand the technical aspects of steam locomotives and also the movement afoot for 'modern steam' like the now-defunct ACE 3000 project or the AT5 project in the UK. Author Hugh Odom has done a bang up job on this site.

The Steam Tech mailing list is a great place to learn about the newest happenings in modern steam. Believe it or not, steam locomotives are still being designed and built around the world. The most notable being the 5AT as mentioned above, DLM in Switzerland, and The A1 Project, also in the UK.

Charles Dockstader's outstanding valve gear simulation program. This is a great product for anyone that is either designing a large-scale or live steam locomotive valve, or is simply interested in the different valve motion designs.
