CD&M Railroad

Charlie & Dan on Father's Day 2004 Welcome to our shortline! The CD&M was named after Charlie, his son, Dan, and his wife, Marie. But sometimes, it stands for Crooked, Downhill, and Muddy!

Nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Oregon Coast Range, this railroad grew out of a desire to restore a 1908 Porter compressed-air locomotive. It has since grown into a 1/4-mile 'working' shortline with numerous MOW cars, a diesel/mechanical locomotive and many outbuildings and structures.

Specifications:

  • Construction Started: August 1996
  • Expected Completion: Spring of 2005
  • Length: Approx. 1/4 mile (1,372 feet)
  • Gauge: 36" (constructed with 60 lb rail)

Please note that the CD&M is a private railroad, used for a limited amount of agricultural goods transport and enjoyment for our friends and family. Rides are on an invitation-only basis.
